Anthony Deringer

Dr. Deringer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Texas State University. He earned his doctoral degree in education from Washington State University. Dr. Deringer has worked in the outdoor recreation field in varying capacities for over two decades now. Dr. Deringer enjoys spending time with students in the field, engaging with students in backpacking, canoeing, and other outdoor experiential learning. His research interests include the impacts of human nature interactions, mindfulness in nature, and the impact of nearby nature on human health. Dr. Deringer co-founded a grant-funded local outdoor education program that provides after-school experiential learning for middle school students.
