Bio
Dr. Christine Lynn Norton holds a Ph.D. in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago, along with a Master of Arts in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago and a Master of Science in Experiential Education from Minnesota State University-Mankato. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas with over 30 years of experience, she has worked with youth in various settings, including therapeutic programs and schools. Dr. Norton has taught at multiple universities and focuses on positive youth development, trauma-informed care, and outdoor therapy. As co-director of the Outdoor Research Collaborative, she has contributed significantly to foster care initiatives and founded the Foster Care Adventure Therapy Network. With over 60 peer-reviewed articles and multiple funding grants, she is a prominent social work scholar and a TEDx speaker who uses storytelling to promote resilience and leadership. Dr. Norton has also served as a Fulbright Scholar in Taiwan, teaching adventure therapy.
