Cultural representation with the outdoors matters which guides my research interests in Mental Health and historically underrepresented communities with adventure therapy. The frameworks that guide my research builds on strength based modalities that sheds light on the influence of stories, and how stories are shared. Beyond my research interests, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, in the State of Michigan that has 20+ years of experience with advocating at various agencies in Southeast Michigan. I believe having a space that honors mental health in a respectful manner is one of the first steps towards shifting the deficit paradigm. In summary my point b or end goal is to conduct service work that works towards being a conduit for change, where diverse voices can be challenged and grow.
