Lindsay A. Cray, LMHC-D, NCC, CCAT is a licensed mental health counselor, educator, and founder of Integrating Nature LLC. Her work is dedicated to advancing the integration of Nature-Based Therapy (NBT) into contemporary clinical practice through evidence-informed, experiential approaches that support nervous system regulation, trauma recovery, and long-term resilience.

As the developer of the Core Calm™ clinical framework, Lindsay bridges neuroscience, trauma-informed care, experiential education, and adventure-based practices with evidence-based psychotherapy to provide clinicians with practical, adaptable interventions that can be integrated across outpatient, group, community, and wilderness settings. Rather than viewing nature as simply the setting for therapy, her work demonstrates how intentional engagement with the natural world can become an active therapeutic partner in fostering emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility, psychological safety, and post-traumatic growth.

In her private practice, Lindsay specializes in the treatment of complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and operational stress injuries, working extensively with veterans, first responders, healthcare professionals, and individuals recovering from chronic stress and adversity. Beyond direct clinical care, she consults with behavioral health organizations, universities, and experiential programs throughout North America, helping professionals translate emerging research in Nature-Based Therapy into structured, ethical, and clinically sound interventions. Whether facilitating psychotherapy on a woodland trail or training clinicians to integrate observation, mindfulness, movement, reflection, and ecological processes into treatment, Lindsay emphasizes that nature is not merely a backdrop for therapy—it is an active therapeutic partner. Through the Core Calm™ framework, she equips clinicians to transform everyday interactions with the natural world into intentional clinical interventions that strengthen emotional regulation, deepen insight, cultivate resilience, and promote lasting psychological change.
